Too few of us "anti-nazi" s on here if you ask me.....
God bless you AMouse.

Post by AnnonyMouseHi Mart,
Top, bottom or interleaved posting - which I use depends somewhat on the
circumstances or my mood. What I detest are those who feel the need to
try and dictate how others should post. I probably bottom post more for
one liners commenting on a previous post whereas I top post for fuller
posts that for comprehension don't necessarily require knowledge of an
earlier post and interleave when responding to or commenting on multiple
parts of a previous post.
Not being into html I've never quite got the hang of sideways posting! <vbg>
I'm very pleased to read you've cured the problems with your PVR.
Likewise my capturing and encoding is going pretty well as my Hauppauge
twin tuner card is working better than it ever has since Hauppauge
released updated drivers some time ago. Not having gone to Freesat all
I'm missing now is DVB-T2 HD capture card for use with Freeview but such
cards are impossible to find since all of the DVB-T2 chipsets seem to be
being used for either set top boxes or built into new TVs.
As for powering down, sadly having powered down my second box a couple of
weeks ago it has since refused to start and I just don't have the energy
at the moment to clear everything around it so as to get access, open up
the box and trace the problem which I'm hoping is nothing more than a
detached power lead. Fortunately you haven't seen beside and beneath my
desk but suffice to say there are multiple extension strips and sockets
with at the last count over outlets and I dread to think how many of
those have a small power transformer attached (laptop power supply,
phone, router, switch, external usb drives, etc, etc.).
Catch you soon.
Mike - who's thinking about returning to the horizontal, it being a lot
warmer there!
Post by MartHi Mike,
Hmm.. Yep, OK! - I'll kill the "almost" bit. And if anyone wants to
bottom post in the WinMe NG, then that's fine by me. I'll just stick
with top posting, as we've always done here ever since I can remember
- 2000? - and agree to disagree.
Now, about you. - To quote (or perhaps mis-quote) the words of another
long-since-heard-from sage of this Group, "Good to read your face"
I keep threatening to give you a call but heard via Joan/Heather that
you're OK so tended to put it off for another day. Trouble is, the
days keep piling-up <g> Also saw you chip-in elsewhere recently (re
damaged DVD) which was also re-assuring and confirmed Joan &
Heather's reports. BTW - My DVD recorder now works properly - a
complete power shut-down was the eventual solution. Software 'factory
resets' just would not clear the pesky intermittent problem.
If all else fails - power down for a few hours!
Catch you soon
