Run "SCAN REG /OPT /FIX" (no quotes), from your Run > Dialog box.

I believe /fix includes /opt

however - neither includes a space between Scan and REG!<g>
The command is

SCANREG /FIX or
SCANREG /OPT /FIX

There was some debate a while back elsewhere between Bill Blanton, Koldbear
(RIP), and myself - and a few others - as to whether this still applied.
IIRC we eventually decided (after some testing) that there was a certain
amount of benefit to the combination. However - the benefit was so small as
to be unnoticeable in real life situations (about 10Kb in a 9MB registry).
The extra complications weren't worth the results.

Couldn't find the article at Jim E's the other day, now I've got it <G>

<snip>
In Win ME: Click Start, click Run, type: SCANREG /OPT /FIX
</snip>

I stand corrected.

We made much *adieu about nothing* (as we oft-did) a ways back,
thread-out, Rick.
