Windows Me QuickTime Movie Playback

Having trouble playing back QuickTime movie files downloaded from my iPhone.

QuickTime constantly complains that it is missing codecs. So I guess it
needs H.264 for the audio and MPEG-4 for the video? That is what G-Spot
Appliance tells me.

What is the best source for codecs to play back these streams under Windows
ME or the best alternative workaround?

Thanks in advance!

I always think of Quick Time as an Apple thing. I know about the Windows
version, but you probably have to go back to an old one (not 2009) to find
compatibility.

H.264 and MPEG-4 are both newer than ME. See if Apple or Itunes has a
playerthat'll work with ME. If not you may be screwed.

sourceforge.net is another possible source but my luck with free QuickTime
programs haven't been good.

Have you tried videolan or media player classic?

http://www.videolan.org/vlc/

http://www.videolan.org/vlc/download-windows.html#win98

http://mpc-hc.sourceforge.net/

It looks like MPC supports H.264 only if you have nvidia 8xxx/9xxx or
ATI radeon HD video card.
