Discussion:
Put Documents and Settings on D partition?
(too old to reply)

Hello,

I'm installing Windows ME on a new hard drive (the old one died) on a Dell
Dimension L700cxe.

Is it possible to have the installer program put the Documents and Settings
folder on a different partition i.e. D:\Documents and Settings ? I've done
this on my own Windows 2000 setup using the unattended install function.

Failing that, is there a way to cleanly move Documents and Settings to the
D: partition after the install?

Thanks in advance,
Clark.

There is no 'Documents and Settings' folder in any Win9x OS.
What exactly do you want to move?
You can move My Documents to anywhere on the PC, by r-clicking on the icon,
and selecting Properties - change the target folder, and you're away.
