Yeah, it's gone from msnews.microsoft.com, but Astraweb
still has it.

Hi Joan and Shane, BT is the one I posted from. I noticed too that very many
ng's (hundreds?) - including some XP ng's - have also disappeared from the
MS server. But oddly enough, win98.gen_discussion is still there. Perhaps MS
expect the WinMe community (as a legacy group) to go and join them there.

Hi Heather, what server are you using, I can get it through BT and eternal,
I'm on the BT server at the moment.

Oops just looked down and I see you're on eternal, should have looked before
I started to post <g>

Hopefully this will stay around so we can still meet up, I got my reminder
this morning about your forthcoming birthday, even though I hadn't forgotten

Microsoft has no power (that I see) to pull winme.general off the
'entire' NNTP server network. They just aren't interested in keeping
on, keeping on using NNTP for support groups. As opposed to their own
servers.

I use google groups. It will likely never end on usenet and web based
usenet.

I use google groups.
Using Google Groups to read and post to usenet is lame.

You are known as a google-grouper, and there are quite a few people that
block posts made through GG.

Get a real newsreader and use a real usenet server.

waahh, the only people I have seen that whine about google groups are,

I've set up usenet servers, I don't need them today. Amazing your
server accepts web based usenet though, being such a whiner that you

A good example of why so many people think so lowly about
google-groupers.

Google Groupers are known for posting garbage, mainly because of the
brain-dead google interface they use.

What a load of horse shit. What exactly do you think you're doing when
you post to usenet using google's interface?

You've just proved that you know nothing about what usenet is or how it
works.

I've set up working servers. No stranger to it.

Google is easy to use and you can read part of posts and you can
ignore them without downloading them. It shows very little spam, and
if you turn off java in the browser it functions well. I don't do
binaries and get stuff from torrents. So I really don't need a NNTP
server and client. I don't know if google groups somehoe
inconveniences you anti-google groups people but, I am not going to
pay for a service and free servers have always been inconsistent in
their services.
