Three USB2 Ports

1 Port has a Printer
1 Port has a hub with 2 hard disk

(Total item are 1 printer + 3 hard disks)

When I try to connect another item
to the Port 3 Windows Me does not
recognise it unless I remove one of
other hard dish?
otherwise will automatically remove it.
My system drives go like this:-

A: C: D: C: and D: are the system hard disk
E: and F: are the CD dirves
USB drives start from:-
G: H: 2 Partitions on one hd
I: and J: 2 Partitions on other hard disk

Window Me does not display beyond that
to drives K: L: and so on

Is it a limit in Windos Me ?
Any help from a user would be much appreciated?

Is it a limit in Windows Me ?
A thru' Z, i.e. 26 (which is the DOS limit of drive letters - including
partitions!!). However, there are 'work-arounds' out there if you are
really, really desperate. But I think 26 is more than enough!

I would certainly agree with Tim's suggestion though, and consider
especially a possible 'limit' setting in TweakUI v1.33 (if installed) If
you don't think it is (still?) installed on your WinMe PC, it is a very
useful (essential for WinMe) application which may actually resolve your
problem and is still available (freeware) at :-

Bear in mind (if your PC is not 'new' to you) that a previous owner may have
installed TweakUI and never successfully fully uninstalled it.

I would also suggest that you consider re-designating the two CD-ROMS to R
(for the Read only) and W (for your Writer [burner]) That way, it keeps them
well down the alphabetical order (and somewhat more stable), especially if
you use memory sticks which have a happy knack of trying to assign
themselves with first available (not in use at the time) drive letter. That
can cause havoc to your 'neat' designation listing.

Good luck
